About Area H

* The population (2006) is 2.208.
* Of the eight electoral areas contained within the RDOS, Electorial Area H, at 4,815 square kilometres is the largest, and represents approximately 46.2% of the total region.
* The long-term demographic trend in Electoral Area H has seen an increase in the average age of residents.
* In 2006, the average age of year round residents was 56 years.
* 74.4% of the residents in Area-H are composed of either 1 person or couples with no children.
* 46% of the Area H residents are seasonal.
* The main communities are Tulameen, Eastgate, Missezula Lake, Coalmont, Osprey Lake, Princeton Fringe, Allison Lake, and Princeton-Summerland Corridor (Five Mile Valley and Chain Lake Area). These are all addressed in the Electoral Area H Official Community Plan Bylaw.

Draft 2011 OCP

The community is now invited to provide preliminary feedback on these documents prior to their consideration by the Regional District Board later this fall.
